Edmon Colomer currently serves as Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra in South Korea and as Principal Guest Conductor of the Orchestre de Picardie. Founder and Artistic Director of the Joven Orquesta Nacional de España from 1983 to 1996, he has also been Music Director of the Orchestre de Picardie in France between 1998 and 2003 and Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Orquestra Simfònica de Balears in Spain between 2002 and 2005.

Macbeth, Wozzeck, Don Giovanni, Ariadne auf Naxos, Don Pasquale, Picasso et la Danse and Casse-Noisette/Béjart rank among his most succesful opera and ballet productions in Europe and the United States. Champion of spanish, french and latinamerican new music he rounds off his succesful approach to living composers with world premieres of Nillni, Lavista, Escaich, Connesson, Tanguy, Guinjoan, or Xenakis.

Maestro Colomer appears regularly on radio and television broadcasts in Europe, Australia, Japan, Korea and North and South America. Several Prizes and Awards have been granted to his extensive recording activity with the Joven Orquesta Nacional de España, Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona, English Chamber Orchestra, London Sinfonietta, Orchestre de Picardie, the Choeur Radio France and the BBC Symphony Chorus, released by Auvidis-Naïve, Assai, Harmonia Mundi, Calliope, Triton, Ensayo, Virgin and Philips.

De Falla Atlàntida and El amor brujo, Gerhard The Plague, Poulenc Organ Concerto and Sinfonietta, or the DVD productions of Tchaikovsky Nutcracker by Béjart and the Concierto de Aranjuez with Paco de Lucía stand out as reference versions. His catalogue also includes works by Beethoven, Schumann, Fauré, Ginastera, Guinjoan, Honegger, Milhaud, Weill, Bernstein, Nillni and Lavista.

In 2002 Edmon Colomer was awarded "Chevalier dans l’ordre des palmes académiques" by the French Ministry of Culture.
